Equine (Donkeys) Facilitated Psychotherapy promotes personal exploration and behaviors.
The sessions are conducted by a mental health professional, an ESMHL (Equine Mental Health Specialist and Learning).
Rather than providing instruction on particular donkeysmanship skills, EFP focuses on client’s needs and includes specific treatment goals facilitated by the mental health professional. We use guided, ground-based activities to focus on mental, emotional, and mental health.
EFP addresses a variety of mental health and human development needs including:
Anxiety Disorder – Autism Spectrum – Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – Behavioral Issues – Depression – Down Syndrome – OCD – Substance Use Disorder – Trauma – PTSD – Traumatic Brain Injury
